African Wildlife Foundation and Nature’s Best Photography continues into Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, led again by Craig Sholley and Jeff Vanuga. This five-day extension offers incredible treks through lush forests, luxurious accommodations in the Clouds Lodge and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit one of the world’s rarest creatures, the mountain gorilla.
AWF and Nature’s Best Photography obtained two daily gorilla trekking permits, giving travelers the incredible chance to experience this life-changing event. Tracking gorillas is considered the ultimate wildlife experience by safari connoisseurs. The experience is enhanced by informal lectures and photo tips with Craig Sholley and Jeff Vanuga.
After a final morning of wildlife viewing, depart the Serengeti via Kogatende Airstrip on a Coastal Air flight to Kigali, Rwanda.
Depart Kigali this morning by 4x4 safari vehicle and venture across Rwanda to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive takes 5 hours over paved roads and affords amazing scenery along the way. Arrive at the award-winning Clouds Lodge with plenty of time to check-in and relax before dinner this evening.
The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest draws travelers from around the world. Its lush landscape and rolling hills host nearly half the world’s population of critically endangered mountain gorillas. You will spend the next two days trekking the forest in search of the gorilla families that roam the mountains. Trekking conditions are strenuous, but the result is a life-changing experience. The naturally calm and gentle gorillas present incredible, intimate photo opportunities from a close, yet safe, distance.
Enjoy a day of rest transferring back from the Impenetrable Forest in Uganda to Kigali, Rwanda, where you’ll relax in the Kigali Serena Hotel before setting out for your departure flight.
