Charity Navigator Ranks AWF as Top Charity
Jul 06, 2009

WASHINGTON, DC--The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is proud to announce that it has received the coveted 4-star rating from the charity watchdog group, Charity Navigator. This is the eighth consecutive year that AWF has received Charity Navigator's highest rating.

As the nonprofit sector continues to grow rapidly, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency, and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support. Charity Navigator, which evaluates over 5,200 nonprofits, has deemed that AWF is truly worthy of its 4-star rating.

Only 1% of the charities we rate have received at least 8 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that African Wildlife Foundation consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America,” said Ken Berger, Charity Navigator’s President and CEO. “This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates African Wildlife Foundation from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
