Today, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora convened on Proposals 14, 15 and 16 focusing on the African elephant. AWF had called for the rejection of all three proposals in our position and rationale prior to the Convention.

Listing of The Eastern Gorilla on the Critically Endangered List

The Eastern Gorilla also known as Grauer’s Gorilla – the largest living primate – has been listed as Critically Endangered, according to the latest update of The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ released on 5 September 2016 at the IUCN World Conservation Congress taking place in Hawaii.
