Explore

Take a virtual safari to some of Africa’s wildest regions — the African Heartlands.

See profiles and photos of the Heartlands and discover how the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) works to empower local communities, protect vast landscapes, and conserve Africa’s wildlife like lions, elephants and gorillas.

How? By using Google Earth.

Google Earth (www.earth.google.com) is an exciting new web-based tool that combines satellite imagery, maps, and web links to generate a powerful visualization of our world on your computer. Google Earth can be used to show — not just talk about — places and environmental changes such as habitat loss and wildlife migrations.
