Equip Mountain Gorilla Rangers
Help Provide Basic Resources
Rangers and scouts are the eyes and the ears of conservation efforts in AWF’s Virunga Heartland (which spans Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda), which is home to the world's 720 remaining mountain gorillas. Groups of mountain gorillas are carefully watched around the clock by rangers to ensure that poachers don't strike. AWF has trained rangers to record a variety of information such as data on various animal species, habitat and water systems; habitat-destruction activities like logging, charcoal burning and over-grazing. After 10 gorillas were killed last year, these rangers need your help more than ever to receive basic equipment and resources to carry out their jobs, on which the gorillas are depending. A small gift from you can go a long way for the gorillas and rangers in the Virungas.
