AWF Ranked Amongst Top 1% of Charities Receiving This Eminent Designation

WASHINGTON, DC, June 5, 2012 -- African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is proud to announce that it has received the coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the 11th year in a row. Fewer than 1 percent of charities receive the 4-star evaluation from Charity Navigator for 11 consecutive years, signifying that AWF is consistent in its mission execution and does so in a fiscally responsible way.

Charity Navigator is America's largest independent evaluator of charities. In awarding AWF four out of a possible four stars, Charity Navigator offers donors third-party validation that AWF outperforms most other charities in America. The award recognizes our adherence to good governance, a commitment to accountability and transparency, and sound fiscal management.

"This designation shows how effectively the African Wildlife Foundation uses donor funding to achieve our mission of conserving Africa's wildlife alongside local communities," said Patrick Bergin, CEO of AWF. "The four-star rating gives confidence to our donors that their contributions are being used wisely. It's an honor to have earned the loyalty and trust of our donors."
