TENDER INVITATION
RE: REHABILITATION OF RUKANGA WATER PROJECT
The African Wildlife Foundation is an international conservation organization created with the intent of preserving Africa's wildlife, wild lands, and natural resources. AWF has secured funding from Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) to support the Rehabilitation of Rukunga Water project in Taita Taveta County.
For this purpose, AWF invites bidders to submit quotations for the execution and completion of the above assignment as provided in this tender document.
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS
The tenderer must attach the following documents to the tender to be submitted:

Copy of PIN Certificate
Copy of a Valid Tax Compliance certificate
TECHNICAL EVALUATION CRITERIA
Experience and Track Record (25%)
- Relevant Experience: Demonstrate experience with similar water rehabilitation or construction projects, particularly within Kenya or other African regions.
- Past Projects: Provide evidence of at least 3 similar projects completed in the last 5 years, including project summaries, locations, budgets, timelines, and references.
- Client References: Include contactable references from previous clients for validation.
2. Technical and Methodological Approach (30%)
- Project Understanding: Show understanding of the project requirements and objectives for Rukunga Water.
- Work Plan and Methodology: Present a clear work plan outlining phases, timelines, and deliverables, including environmental considerations and impact mitigation measures.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and provide risk mitigation strategies.
3. Personnel and Equipment (20%)
- Key Personnel Qualifications: List team members with relevant qualifications, particularly for positions such as Project Manager, Site Engineer, and Environmental Specialist.
- Experience of Key Personnel: Include CVs highlighting similar projects completed by each team member.
- Equipment Availability: Provide an inventory of equipment required for the project, confirming that it is owned or accessible for the duration of the project.
4. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance (15%)
- HSE Policy and Compliance: Outline the bidder’s HSE policy, including measures for the safety of personnel, environmental impact mitigation, and compliance with national and international standards.
- Environmental Management Plan: Present an outline of an environmental management plan that addresses sustainability and rehabilitation of disturbed areas.
5. Local Content and Community Engagement (15%)
- Engagement with Local Communities: Demonstrate strategies to involve local communities, including employment of local labor and sourcing of materials.
- Sustainability and Social Responsibility: Show commitment to sustainable practices and any social responsibility initiatives aligned with the project.
6. Financial and Project Management Capability (15%)
- Financial Capacity: Provide audited financial statements for the last three years to demonstrate financial health and capacity to handle the project.
- Project Management Systems: Describe project management systems in place to track and manage project progress, costs, and reporting.
