About the Author

Manfred Aimé Epanda is the former Country Coordinator of African Wildlife Foundation's operations in Cameroon. His experience with community conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources extends from the grassroots and national level up to the regional level in the Congo Basin. He is a Whitley Award recipient, recognized by the Whitley Fund for Nature in 2006 for his significant contribution to community conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources in Cameroon’s Dja Biosphere Reserve. Manfred holds M.S. degrees in both Forestry and in International Relations with a specialization in Environmental Management. He regularly contributes research articles on natural resource management and wildlife conservation to leading scientific journals.
