About the Author

Kenneth Kimitei is African Wildlife Foundation’s Landscape Ecologist in the Tsavo-Mkomazi Landscape. He works with government agencies, community-based conservation organizations, and the private sector to streamline sustainable development, ecological monitoring, and conservation of natural resources in areas with high biodiversity value. Kenneth also served in a similar capacity in the transboundary Kilimanjaro Landscape, providing technical and advisory support to AWF teams and partners. Prior to joining the organization in 2015, Kenneth planned and executes biodiversity data collection at Marsabit National Park and Tsavo East National Park for the Kenya Wildlife Service. He obtained his M.S. and B.S. in Wildlife Management from the University of Eldoret in Kenya. He regularly contributes to various publications on the status of wildlife species and habitat suitability assessments.
