1. Introduction
African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) invites proposals from licensed and experienced borehole drilling contractors for the drilling, construction, development, and test pumping of a community water borehole at Naikara, Narok County.
This assignment will be delivered in accordance with the attached Hydrogeological and Geophysical Survey Report (October 2025).
2. Scope of Works
The contractor is expected to carry out:
2.1 Mobilization
- Mobilize drill rig, compressor, personnel, materials, and support equipment.
2.2 Drilling
- Drill an 8-inch diameter borehole to a depth of 220–250m at the recommended site (Station No.2, Profile 1).
- Maintain full drilling logs and geological sample collection at 2m intervals.
- Record water strike levels, drilling penetration rate, and rest water levels.
2.3 Casing and Well Construction
- Install 6-inch mild steel casing and screen.
- Provide gravel pack (2–4 mm).
- Install centralizers every 6m.
- Grout top 5m with cement-bentonite mix.
2.4 Development
- Develop the well through airlifting, surging, and flushing until clear water is obtained.
2.5 Pump Testing
- Conduct 24-hour constant discharge test.
- Conduct 2-hour recovery test.
- Provide complete pumping test analysis.
2.6 Water Quality Analysis
- Collect samples for: chemical, physical, and bacteriological analysis (from accredited laboratory).

4. Mandatory Requirements
Bidders must provide:
- Valid WRA Driller’s License
- Valid NCA 6 and above Certification for Water Works
- Certificate of Incorporation
- KRA PIN & Tax Compliance Certificate
- Evidence of similar assignments (minimum 3)
- Workplan and methodology
- List of equipment and ownership
- CVs of key technical personnel
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) plan
