Request for Proposals: APAD Benchmarking Exchanges, Best Practice Documentation & APAD 3 Conference Facilitation

The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is seeking qualified individual consultants or firms to provide technical, analytical, and facilitation support for the Africa Protected Area Directors (APAD) network, as part of the Strengthening African Leadership and Scaling Best Practices through Keystone Partnerships project (funded by the Rob Walton Foundation).

The consultancy will support structured peer-learning and benchmarking exchanges among APAD members, document proven African conservation governance best practices for replication and policy influence, and facilitate the APAD 3 Conference (Gabon, March 2027).

Who should apply: Consultants or firms with 15+ years' experience in conservation governance, protected area management, or policy development, with strong facilitation skills (write-shops, pan-African conferences) and a demonstrated publication record. Experience with African Union institutions and protected area networks is highly desirable; French language skills are a plus.

Duration: Approximately 90 level-of-effort days, August 2026 – September 2028.
