About the Author

Antoine Tabu Senga is African Wildlife Foundation's DRC Country Coordinator. He is also the Deputy Chief of Party of the Community-Based Countering Wildlife Trafficking program funded by the U.S. Agency of International Development and run in conjunction with African Parks Network and Levin Sources in the Mboumu-Uele transboundary region. Since 2018, he has been responsible for the technical, management, financial, and administrative aspects of the program. Antoine also represents African Wildlife Foundation as the appointed Protected Area Management Expert on the Intersectoral Coordinating Committee for Territorial Development in the region. Prior to this role in Bili-Uele, Antoine was a Senior Field Officer in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Maringa-Lopori-Wamba landscape. In this role, he managed a World Bank funded project from 2011-2013 on the diversification of economic activities in the area. Antoine joined AWF in 2005 as a technical advisor and administrator in Mbandaka before moving to Basankusu where he was in charge of livelihood impact projects. Antoine continues to develop his passion for community empowerment through conservation.
